Yes, I finally got around to listening to Lover and I’m definitely exposing myself with how much I have listened to Paper Rings, but it’s so full of love and joy and happiness and my brother got married this weekend so it just ticked all of the boxes, y’know?
The Noah Cyrus tune was a late entry but it’s just so simple and powerful and a good time to sing to, easy to put on repeat for days; Tones and I taking a lot of chart positions because her new EP is so so heartbreakingly good; the Moncrieff song has such a good line that just demands repeat listens; and that Camila Cabello song is catchy as hell.
IAINSIGHTS TOP 10 ARTISTS: SEPTEMBER 2019
| Position | Artist |
| #1 | Taylor Swift |
| #2 | Tones and I |
| #3 | Lewis Capaldi |
| #4 | Jax Jones |
| #5 | Noah Cyrus |
| #6 | Pale Waves |
| #7 | Adam Lambert |
| #8 | James Morrison |
| #9 | Camila Cabello |
| #10 | Édith Piaf |
Taylor Swift just fending off Tones and I at the top spot this month, probably because Swift released three times as many new songs as my new favourite New Zealander, but a close call.
Lewis Capaldi continues his reign because that album is so listenable; Jax Jones new album was a suprising delight; Pale Waves were an excellent live band and had me in my feelings a lot; and I finally saw The Shape of Water and had an evening listening to the French music stylings of Édith Piaf.
